Michele is a mom, a Memere to a five-year-old, and the human companion to a small pup named Henry. She is currently shadowing to become a study group facilitator.

My name is Michele and I’m a mom to three amazing adults, a Memere to one sweet five-year-old, and the human companion to a small pup named Henry.  For as long as I’ve had memories, I’ve always loved reading, telling stories, and listening to the stories of others. Creativity and connection have been central threads throughout my life, shaping both my work and the way I move through the world.
Before my FND diagnosis in March 2022, I worked as a preschool teacher, a professional picture framer, and in customer service as a supermarket cashier–roles that allowed me to blend patience, creativity and daily connection with people, whether through art, learning, or conversations about food and the meals people were creating for their families.  These experiences continue to inform how I approach life today, with attention to detail, curiosity, and compassion.
Living with FND has reshaped my life in profound ways, but it has also deepened my understanding of self-care, creativity, and learning to meet myself where I am.  Through art, quilting, time in nature, reading, and simple daily rituals, I’ve found ways to support my mental and physical well-being and reconnect with what brings me joy.  Since my diagnosis, I’ve also formed meaningful new connections, nurturing friendships that have brought deep support, nourishment, and a renewed sense of belonging to my life.
I’m grateful to be volunteering with FNDcourage and honored to be part of a community that values courage, compassion, and living fully – just as we are.
